English 8C: Today in class we wrote our paragraphs for an assessment piece.  These were presented in class and handed in afterwards.  You were also assessed on your public speaking skills.

Sci 9B: We finished off all material that will be on the chapter three test.  Tomorrow you will receive a review sheet for chapter 3 test.  From the text review you can work on #’s 2-15 on page 100/101.  These will all be due on Tuesday, Nov. 8.  The test will be on Wed. Nov. 9.

Science 9A: We finished off all material that will be on the chapter three test.  You received your chapter 3 review sheet and text review material.  Complete #’s 2-15 on page 100/101 for tomorrow. 

 

Friday, October 28

Science 9A & 9B:  Homework – Complete worksheet and #4 from section 3.3.

Social studies 9B: Reminder to those students who have not passed in their interview to do so ASAP.  Also we will be presenting our Inspiration projects during A block on Tuesday, Nov. 1st.

English 8C: No homework.  Question: What were the three listening strategies that we learned today in class?  First to tell me answer on Monday will receive a treat.

English 9B: Reminder that your independent novel projects are due on Friday, Nov. 4th.

Tuesday, October 25

Science 9B: Currently, we are completing chapter 3.  We have covered section 3.2 and will finish up 3.3 on Wednesday.

Science 9A: We will begin chapter 3 on Wednesday.

English 9B: We will be finishing up our persuasive essays tomorrow during B block.  They are due this Thursday, Oct. 27.

English 8C: We are working on short essay that will be due Thursday, Oct. 27.

Social Studies: Reminder for those who still have not passed in their interviews.  You still have a chance to get these marks.

Monday, Oct. 17

English 8C: Search the country of Serbia and find three facts on the war that took place there.

Science 9B: We wrote test today.  No homework.  We will begin chapter 3 on Wednesday.

Social Studies: For those few students who still have not handed in your world map, that was to be colored and labelled, don’t forget because you can still get those marks.

English 9B: No Class today.

Social Studies 9B: World maps are to be colored, labelled and handed in on Monday, Oct. 17th.  Remember this is to be from your perspectives.  Great class today!

English 9B:  From the article that was published in the Calgary Herald in December 2008, pick out the author’s thesis statement, arguments to support this thesis, along with evidence that supports the argument and finally the thesis (restated) and the call for action.

English 8C:  No Homework

English 9B: Reminder that Independent Novel projects are due November 4th.  If you have not received a hard copy handout on this, email me and I will get it to you.  Today in class, I gave back a number of assignments, check with me tomorrow on anything you may have missed handing in.

Social Studies 9B:  Have your paragraphs and definition ready for class.  This was homework that was due today.  We did not complete another lesson on our world perspectives due to a large number of students being absent.

Science 9A:  Review sheets due Monday.  Test next Wednesday.

Science 9B: We will correct our chapter two review Thursday and discuss the test day for chapter 2.
